The Jewish Authenticity and Identity exhibition catalogue includes the catalogue essay by curator Ori Z. Soltes, 70 full color images of artworks featured in the exhibition, and more.

Author Ori Z Soltes, a professor at Georgetown University’s Center for the Study of Jewish Civilization, has for four decades engaged critically with Jewish artwork, politics and culture. Under his direction the exhibition looks at how artists respond to and reflect Jewish identity, including political exclusion, women’s issues, assimilation, cultural appropriation, and cultural identity. The exhibition is on view April 5 through May 14, 2021 at Adas Israel Congregation in Washington, D.C.

The exhibition features more than 70 works of painting, sculpture, photography, and printmaking, including examples of Jewish ritual objects, as well as abstract works, portraits, public artwork maquette, and more, created by contemporary Israeli artists, European artists, and artists from around the United States, including many from the Washington, D.C. region.
