A Future Sea is a collection of writing by faculty and youth participants in Day Eight’s 2025 poetry teams, women and girls writing program, and summer writing camp. The book reflects the visions of youth and adult writers in Washington, D.C.

Day Eight was founded by Robert Bettmann (editor) to contribute to the healing of the world through the arts. The organization produces a literary magazine, exhibitions, and performances. Publication of A Future Sea was made possibly be individual donors to Day Eight and grants from Learn24, Anc4a, the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, and the Friends of the Shepherd Park Library.
