Port of Exit is the debut poetry collection by Kevin Wiggins aka The Mysfit. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland the author is a spoken word artist, storyteller, and playwright. His work stares adversity in the face and is unapologetic for the Black LGBTQ community with intensity, rage, compassion, and love.

Artwork on the book’s cover is by artist Tim Tate.

Author and advocate Amy Woolard wrote, “These poems, and this poet, are a gospel.”

Poet Gregory Luce said, “Defying racial and gender conventions at every turn, these poems spark tears and laughter in equal measures.”

Port of Exit was published following the author’s win of the 2019 DC Poet Project competition. The 2019 DC Poet Project was produced by Day Eight through support from the DC Commission on the Arts and participating poets and partners, including the DC Public Library, Anacostia Coordinating Council, BRINK media and poets Gregory Luce,  E.
